Arlington National Cemetery, our nation's most well-known military cemetery, is a national cemetery under the jurisdiction of the Department of the Army. The primary mission of Arlington National Cemetery is to function as the nation's premier military cemetery honoring those men and women who served in the Armed Forces. In this regard, the cemetery routinely performs 25-30 funeral services each day.
The objective of the IGI&S Arlington National Cemetery task order was to establish a baseline IGI&S capability to support Arlington National Cemetery Operations. Specifically, Axim Geospatial provided custom application development to support operational, scheduling, and viewing capabilities within Army Mapper and Arlington National Cemetery environments. We also developed a custom, public-facing applications for use by the general public in locating gravesites, events, and points of interest. The public applications include a Flex-based web map viewer and applications for iOS, Android, and Blackberry.
