Last week, we attended the 2021 Esri Imagery Summit in Redlands, California. In this focused conference, we were able to learn from and engage with the Esri team and others about what the future of imagery looks like (pun intended).
Watch the vlog below with our very own Colin Johnson and Chris Blinn for a recap of the conference and some key takeaways, such as:
- Keynote Speaker Dr. Lucas Joppa discusses the power of the planetary computer and how it is being leveraged to see our world in entirely new and exciting ways through massive processing and compute power. The primary focus on this endeavor is to better help understand our environment and help promote sustainability and climate resiliency.
- Dr. Steven Brumby of the Impact Observatory spoke on AI they are leveraging to produce a 10m land classification for the entire globe that spans well into our past as well predictions into our future.
- The roadmap for imagery applications across the Esri platform continue to ramp up in a near exponential manner. As Richard Cooke, the Director of Business Development at Esri stated, "Imagery is no longer at the kid's table at Esri!"
